Access control
The BioTime system offers convenient and economical means for access control for:
corporative security services;
IT subdivisions;
security enterprises;

system integrators.
The main means of identification for the organization of access control are unique biometrical data - fingerprints. Biometrics can guarantee that access to a guarded room is allowed only to a certain person and not to a token that might be lost or stolen. Members cannot lose, forget or lend their means of identification; fingerprints keep their specific features during a lifetime and are resistant to any number of readings.
Fingerprint scanners are joint together with the actuating mechanism controllers of any electromechanical and electromagnetic locks, turnstiles, sluices, gates, etc.
A scanner and a controller are built in the Ethernet terminal frame that is made in two forms: a simple one and supplied with a keyboard and a liquid-crystal display. The display shows the main registered events (comings/goings)/ The keyboard is used for PIN-code entering. The PIN code can serve as alternative means of identification or supplement a biometrical recognition for speeding up passage of members at rush hours.
The terminal can also include a proximity card reader, given to visitors. They use cards for one time passage; at the visit end the cards are returned to the security.

Every terminal supports an autonomous regime.
BioTime allows to set rules of access to the important rooms — offices of managers, server rooms, stock of materials depositaries,etc. Thus, rank-and-file member can pass only the central entrance after his/her fingerprint identification, while the system administrator will also get access to the premises of the server room.
Access to every new level is watched: if a member passes an entrance turnstile together with somebody else, a stranger will be stopped at the next point of control(at another floor level equipped with a terminal).
Every local network terminal is operated from one central management point.
BioTime records(in the part of access control) the following data:
the time of coming and going out of the protected rooms;
the passage of members through the access perimeteres;
the time table observance of stay in the premises, unplanned early comings and late goings;
attempts of members to get access to the protected rooms off-hours;
duration of stay out of the protected rooms — for example, for smoking.
